Floral Couches – Acorns & Oaks

Such a quiet and reflective piece this is, the kind that really takes the agitation out of the air and that is down to that complimentary combination of jangling chords and words as soft from Cody Gray that are feather soft. ‘Acorns & Oaks’ shows us a different side though, not one that is entirely noisy but which has a bit of gunpowder to its approach. And it tells us that Floral Couches can play an expansive game and it is an appealing one that slowly but surely works its way elegantly into our affections. Growing old it seems doesn’t mean we have to lose our spark. KH
