Last Leaf Down – Silence

If you were into Interpol, if you were into Coldplay, if you were into Slowdive, if you were into Explosions in the Sky, if you were into Adorable or if you were into Echo & The Bunnymen then it is likely Switzerland’s Last Leaf Down will blow you away. I am to a large degree into all of the aforementioned bands but could still feel elevated to a different plain because of what ‘Silence’ achieves here. The crux of the tune’s success is not only in that quiet/loud dynamic but in the depth of feeling that Last Leaf Down evoke, one that you take away with you and which has you resolved to finally appreciating what is happening all around.
