Talk about ethereal, I mean if there are students of the genre examining the history of the scene then Glazyhaze will be a shiny example given how the vocals have been turned out. This is introspective stuff at first, quiet and the sort that is requiring of time spent in a corner where all other distractions have been disabled. Only then will the ambient charm of that opening be felt and only then will the sharp intake of breath be experienced when ‘Forgive Me’ crushes into shoegaze life. This is perfectly realised dreamy materia, the combination of quiet sequences and its polar opposite a tried and test formula that has been demonstrated wonderfully here. I see Cocteau Twins coming out of hibernation in its wake. Venice, Italy is awake. KH
