There are times when music takes over and everything else needs to be put in the halfpenny place and I find that is the outcome whenever the folk majesty of Constant Follower pulls into town. ‘Almost Time To Go’ is just another example of their deeply emotional presence, reminding of the slowcore usherings of Low. Vocals intertwine as one, a Gustavo Santaolalla like chord embrace (harpest Andy Aquarius) adds mood that amounts to a generous swathe of comfort blanketism. The world stands still for just over two minutes and moves on again renewed after the Stephen McAll directed experience. KH
