Andrew Judah – Elephant

I think my favourite thing about Canadian artist Andrew Judah’s output is the sheer effortlessness of it. There are no demands put on the listener and often the subtlest of change of intonation is enough to rouse us from that content feeling into something approaching actual happiness. How novel a concept, but one that ‘Elephant’ bears as a gift to us, like a pick from the soundtrack to the follow up to the Holdovers. Yes there is intrigue, personality but most of all a warmth to what emerges slowly. The magic is in the slow release and Andrew Judah is proving a master at it – check out his latest LP ‘Evergreen’ for more goodness. KH
