Räre Birds – Pop Mosquitos

You can bury yourself deep in ‘Pop Mosquitos’ and you’ll find layers upon layers of melodic intent such is the sheer bullseye that Stockholm’s Räre Birds have landed. It is at once slacker, stoner and pop/rock that moves in a slow kind of canter but which just gives us more time to wallow in the beautifully turned out arrangements. And that includes vocals that twist and turn in artful ways in time with those churning chords and heavy duty percussion. Time to get lost in the music. KH
