A whole lot for us to chew over here, jangle and 80’s machinations of the New Order kind and that is some time before we’ve been treated to a singer, Sarah Martin has that Harriet Wheeler of the Sundays going for her, who rides atop that storm and comes out on top. Meagre Martin have a quiet majesty going for them for even though there is so much going on in the undertow what stands out is a tune that full of bubbly effervescence. You can feel the energy, the imagination and though retro tinged right the way through this feels like a brave step forward at the same time. Gorgeous. KH
