Sure does give us notions of slacker rock and that is something that is always welcome round ours. LA’s Dress Kit do it in typical Pavement fashion as chords spiral in a manner that feels like the brakes are nowhere to be seen and at the helm a singer who knows how to drift in and out of consciousness to give ‘Manhattan’ an effortlessly cool demeanour. At times it’s as if it is all about to kick off in a punk rock manner but Dress Kit are just too disheveled to pose any threat. I hope they never change. KH
