It reminded me of Enya in the first instance but there is more contemporary pop attention in the undercurrents of ‘Captain’. Still it swirls with a romantic ambience, a swell of synths, voices wrapped in glorious union and stirred by the most subtle of percussion. Vox Rea, the Kurdyak siblings from Canada, have created a song to lose yourself. ‘Captain’ us full of emotional tidings, the ebb and flow carrying with it the hopes and dreams that we all harbour but can’t yet put into song to anything like the same degree of rampant imagination.
