The Screamies – Clara’s Mix

It is obvious that Washington’s the Screamies are in possession of a twinkle in their collective eye and that for me is a most important component in a set of creatives, not least because it is a rare occurrence these days. So ‘Clara’s Mix’, from 3rd LP ‘Night on Earth’, gives us something that fashions punk, pop and a chorus from nowhere so it feels good to be around. There’s a rebellious streak in there too and just so much joy to the piece that it can’t help but restore the pep to our step as a result. Refreshing and fun stuff. KH
