Stuffed Foxes – Pretend to Be a Dog (Gamelle)

An atmospheric piece and of that there is no doubt. Where French collective Stuffed Foxes scare the bejaysus out of us, in a welcome way, is when they put all the put the mood piece cheek by jowl with periodic blasts of guitar carnage. I found the approach bracing, innovative and capable of turning us into life long Stuffed Foxes fans. In short we need disrupters in music more than ever, a jolt to the system from acts who are doing out of passion rather than a route to being the coolest people in their neighborhood. In short, let’s hope this is the way Stuffed Foxes mean to go on. KH
