Probably won’t discover a more pastoral effort than ‘SSRI’ this year. The combination of quiet acoustic and reflection that never raises beyond whisper reminded me so of the Swell Season. Makes for a romantic encounter that never feels showy despite the narrative and that is down to Max DiRado who can evoke intimacy but includes us all in the joy of the experience. ‘SSRI’ is pulled together with an eye for tenderness, making for the equivalent of a joyful tear down the cheek. Perfect. KH
