Slips out of the blocks with plenty of charm, the chords for one and latterly a vocal from an LA bard that has bright-eyed allure and an uncommon supply of it too. ‘Meri Misery’ might have a view of the underbelly but it was never going to take the juggernaut of harmony that Mark Fain wished to spring on us. Sure there are moments when you can see he is tinkering but that degree of experimentation just makes me fall for the track even further. A pop song with grand horizons in the face of adversity makes for a true winner. KH
