An industrious kind of effort from Portland’s Little Oso that combines a swell of indie rock guitar drama with an ethereal vocal that harks right back to the golden age of dreampop from the 90’s, I’m thinking Talulah Gosh. Makes for a simple kind of dynamic but one that is dispatched with a romantic inclination that is rare these days. So ‘Metaphorical Ohio’ is a love song but not as we recently know it and more power to Little Oso for giving us something authentic to get all gooey-eared for. KH
