There is a shuffle here that is just perfect for those who are journeying, whether that be physically or just inside their head. That is because ‘Deadline 1’ offers up a pleasant folk ambience, held in check so that A.C. Jones never encroaches but also extends a hand so we’re left in no doubt that we won’t be alone. The best thing is that the track has another side too, one where there is a little rebellion that might still stay on the tempered side of things but exudes an uplifting effect. An act out of San Francisco that are not to be underestimated for this is epic folk. KH
