Neighbour – Video Store

Though they play it quite and demure it is clear that Germany’s Neighbour follow their own lead, so there is a slightly unconventional manner to ‘Video Store’. Even the way the piano is produced like it is running uphill, but that is just half of the joy of taking in a work that is challenging but as tunesome as can be at the same time. I find it refreshing that there are bands such as Neighbour out there, tweaking the formula and coming out on top every time. ‘Video Store’ is a proper indie cherub and I love it. KH
