Didn’t even need the words to know that there was a rumble through the vagaries of a full/empty/listing heart. On paper it might have beeb a hard one to keep us on board but Lucie Hill comes at ‘Words on a Screen’ in a different way that has a Fiona Apple/Regina Spektor feel about it – namely slightly unconventional but delivered in a magnetic reeling us in manner. Could be that emotions are on a cliff edge and we’re waiting for a denouement that reveals all. There is something spellbinding here that is beyond the pale and undeniably praiseworthy. KH
