Kevin Rumley – Eyes

Makes for a moving work that’s for sure, that was my initial thought as the tender arrangement built from that heartrending opening. Swirling electronic textures and rock tendencies means ‘Eyes’ has a theatrical bent and one that is full of ambition. We might need to have a view of the sunset to enjoy the full extent of what was aimed for from Kevin Rumbley. I felt my chest fill with hope, a rare thing for an instrumental but there is a majesty here that is for sure. Dave Hartley from the War on Drugs helps out on production duties and guitar. KH
