Has more than a hint of country about it, or at least I felt it did early doors but that might just have been that said news about Kris Kristofferson that had me thinking as such. In truth ‘Barrel To Heaven’ has an off-kilter manner that moves beyond the tried and tested traditional fold and it gives us a unique insight into the workings of Brooklyn’s D.A. Crimson. Seems there is an undeniable urge for them to go their own way and we’re glad of it because it gives us something rather out there on its own. Something that reminded me of Nirvana, Suzanne Vega, Zola Jesus and Juana Molina. You see, different! KH
