22° Halo – Orioles at Dusk

‘Orioles at Dusk’ was giving me ‘Washing Machine’ era Sonic Youth vibes I have to admit but then with a wistful voice like that there were infinite more possibilities introduced in the mix. I am a sucker for such melancholic approaches taken by 22° Halo and though the affair is a simple one it is endowed with such passion I had to rein in the tears that were forming duct-side. The nearest thing I can compare it to is Sweden’s Loney, Dear’s (‘Carrying A Stone’) because the feelings were similar. So ‘Orioles At Dusk’ gets packed away to a special place in my heart, the way Grandaddy used to do at will. KH
