San Carol – Cool Out

French band San Carol to their credit sure do know how to summon a torrent of shoegaze noise, the kind that never seems content on standing still either so amid all the feedback and loud ambience is the search for the perfect dreampop hook this side of 1991. And ‘Cool Out’ sure does make a great argument for the genres official resurrection for if this is quality that we can expect then it will be a boon for alternative music lovers. Slowdive are evoked of course but then when you need to reimagine you are better starting off at the source and working from there. Bliss from Maxime Dobosz. KH
