Cousin Luke – Homesick

I can see why Brooklyn duo Cousin Luke have My Bloody Valentine in their list of soundalikes for ‘Homesick’ does have a rip-roaring set of guitar effects. The shoegaze influence is clear from the off and things just get better from thenceforth, vocals in particular have a 90’s quality that screams slacker cool and the combination with the fiery playing is a potent one. A debut for closing one’s eyes to and letting the music transport us to a place where everything feels better. KH
