Those early guitars are certainly set to anthemic and it is a thread that runs right through ‘Joy Ride’ which pulls out all the stops to get us into the spirit of summer. North Carolina 4-piece Wine Pride do have a singer at the helm who can direct matters expertly and one that is flush with harmonies. Yep, this is one soaring piece of aural architecture that has designs on lifting the gloom wherever it falls into earshot. I was certainly convinced because the piece had us back to a time where Oxford’s finest Ride ruled the underground. KH
