Olivia Valentine – My Records Back

Old school as you like from New Orleans duo (Phil Korosec and Geoff Hrabar) Olivia Valentine with a laidback set of words in an otherwise busy arrangement that most reminded me of Elvis Costello. So we’re talking a finer shade of pop machination here with a chorus and everything and with all that a little experimentation around the edges. There is plenty to take in on ‘My Records Back’ so there will be rewards for return visits and for me the whole enterprise sounds like an act with a supply of ideas that could keep us occupied for some time.
