Hello Echo – Pop Death

Now that is a noisy and slightly ramshackle approach that reminded me of Liverpool act the La’s (and the Coral) because there is a hint of psychedelia in there and pure pop tones to go with it. Of course it is as retro as they come but Hello Echo have infused such bounce that it is giver no matter what era you prefer to pick your musical acts. Lo-fi production, hi-fi songwriting and a general sense that if cowboy’s were still riding upcountry these days this would be their soundtrack. And ‘Venus’ by Bananarama bounced round my head for days thanks to ‘Pop Death’ too! KH
