I took a little listen earlier and back now hours later ‘Weeds’ is still as loud as can be. What I hadn’t copped of course and should have known is that Dosser have another side where the drama is dialed down in the shape of a singer who still evokes a grungy effect but in a much less deranged manner. Of course that side of the argument was never closed down completely so ‘Weeds’ consistently shows us two faces, one I really liked and one I could get to like once I’ve grown a bigger pair. There is just too much to like to not rally round this Baltimore band and this track is a case in point as it is top to bottom stuffed full of goodness, demonic though it may be at times. KH
