There is a sparkling intensity to this blondfire track and it comes from both the players and a singer who has a lyric sheet that combines words and all sorts of other pronouncements that add to a sense of occasion. ‘Dirty Fingers’ also sees fit to ram a chorus down our throat, the attitude is clear and we had better get with the post-punk machinations. That’s easy because there is a sense of occasion about Dirty Fingers, a rare quality that sees bolshie personality combined with strong songwriting being the order of the day. She sells sanctuary. KH
