The Silver Abduction – Castle Rock

I do predict that there will be tears spilled to ‘Castle Rock’ because of the way the Silver Abduction take us cleanly back to the golden age of pop. This has girl group and Phil Spector grandness about it and is utterly convincing in that regard, Allison Brice’s vocals soaring and the orchestra filling the twinkling summer night sky with all the romance in the world. Yes, I was thinking Trish Keenan of Broadcast because there is the requisite off-kilter sway to ‘Castle Rock’ but the wooziness won’t put anyone off because it feels all the world like four minutes of 24-carat gold.
