If there was anything to come out of listening to this tune it was a change of mood, a switch in the aura of the room because Scott Apple has the charisma to infect the intimate world that takes place in his songs with a beacon of hope, near euphoria even at times. And that is achieved by having us hang on his every word before bursting out into something of a waltz that it is ok to dance to even if our moves are laboured and completely out of date. ‘Evergreen’ produces endorphins that no piece of music should be capable of producing but there we are experiencing it.
