Our type of tune it has be said, lo-fi but bulging with personality so while the tumble down has a ramshackle feel we just knew that ‘Darkside Ecstasy’ would be top to tail conviviality when it comes to the gentle art of indie formulation. I can hear plenty of parallels with the like of Apples in Stereo and Pavement, musicians with a gift for the sonic gift of the gab but also an ear to the near classical structure where there is a whole lot going on beyond the headline lead vocals. Gorgeous stuff from this Austin troupe, lead by HR Huber-Rodriguez. KH
