I love it when we hear an act who is so clearly just following their own internal compass – something that is obviously the case on ‘State of Confusion’ which marries indie rock anthemship with a dreamy pop vocal concern. There is a motorik quality too of the kind that we haven’t heard since Lower Dens. Popping with intention all over this is a work that feel like the beehive has entered our head, with the attendant stings replaced by oodles of honey. KH
