I Am Bones – Crawl Space

The imagery had me on guard but ‘Crawl Space’ was a whole lot less scare inducing because I Am Bones show us a route to Elliott Smith in their acoustic bedroom pop that slowly but surely takes on a grandeur that had me thinking several parts ‘Siamese Dream’ era Smashing Pumpkins. That is an altogether tender quality and it tells us that we are dealing with a cerebral set of bones here. Denmark’s Johannes Gammelby is an observer of life with a full grasp on the workings of a song that will occupy our thoughts for days to come. KH
