There is a form of setting out its own stall on ‘Lights in the Sky’, a little post-rock but also more traditional song in nature and especially in the way the vocals breeze into town with designs on waltzing and romancing until the sun comes up. Sacramento’s the Speak Low are sure in the love zone alright and they’ll be getting the rest of us tuned into cupid’s arrow territory as a result. I love the way the tune is arranged, involving but also with the crucial dreamy aspect that lifts us free from the bog standard day so we’re part of the flotilla that is ‘Lights in the Sky’. KH
