The one thing that you can’t take away from Copenhagen’s Swash is their sense of adventure, you might even say they are positively swashbuckling on ‘Beard of Bees’ as it runs riot from start to finish. We get punk agitators for sure, liking nothing better than to batter their instruments in the loudest of ways and at times when things properly take flight there was echoes of ‘Hard To Explain’. But Swash do their own thing for the most part and it is positively exhilarating in the process. There’s a buzz, you’d expect that from a title such as that, but there is plenty of honey amid the crash, bang and wallop. I hear a Friday night indie disco anthem in the making here. KH
