Moon Cowboy – Baby Jane

Has that all encompassing shoegaze sound alright, the drifts coming from deep within so you could close your eyes and be pelting through the stars. Very much reminded me of Slowdive with a Neil Halstead like lead vocal from Ricardo Fiel that carries soft expression right the way through. There are echoes of Ride too, their early dreamy nuggets that felt big and impressive but never so noisy as to overwhelm. Lisbon act Moon Cowboy have done ever so well here, drawn us back in the early nineties sound that still holds sway in a lot of our hearts to this day. KH
