That opening is so fulsome and so fluid at once, the kind that genuinely might take a couple of listens to get to the bottom of all the ideas that Lucy Francesca Dron throws into the mix. For now though I am content to concentrate on how she can shimmy through the bass led bluster with her words still coming out on top. Can’t but say there is a shoegaze influence (there have been Slowdive support slots) but it is rare if ever that a tune from that genre comes with such a groove, I mean you can genuinely dance to this in that old baggy/Madchester way. And there is even time along the way to go all introspective in what is a complete 180 degrees on what had passed on before. An awful lot to contend with from this act from Oz amd all of it stellar fare. KH
