Humdrum Book Club -1997

‘1997’ doesn’t really wait for us to settle into the piece, instead it takes off with the kind of spirit of a track reaching a crescendo. That being said it reminded me of Tom Petty, probably more alt leaning to be fair and access to a chorus that would do the Undertones justice. I love the Humdrum Book Club’s spirit of adventure, their questioning minds and a general application to not accepting the status quo. Couldn’t ask for me and in terms of that centerpiece there is a singalong for the rest of us join in with so we can be part of these minutes of escapism. What a debut single from Venice, California’s finest. KH
