London’s Ex-Giant reminded me Belly and the Breeders and I see they’ve put the Pixies down as an influence which makes sense because they have an off-kilter kind of way about them on ‘Dry Mouth’. What they also have is a perceptive pop nuance too so while the song drags us this way and that there is not a huge departure from the kind of tune that would entertain the masses. On it goes, flipping this way and that, taking us down cul-de-sac’s but where each one has a sweet smelling bouquet at the end to make the trip worthwhile. Epic stuff and quite welcome because what it shows us is character and no little musical acumen. KH
