Lamplight lend themselves to comparisons with the great indie acts of yore, they have that edge that never seems like it is forced and is magnetic every time. This is the self-titled track from the soon to be released debut LP and it gets us up close and personal with singer Ian Hatcher-Williams who plays it like Ron Sexsmith, folk rock with its thinking cap on and produced in a manner that compels the rest of us to sing along in time. In other words there is a melodic tread throughout and unhurried greatness abounds. KH
