I genuinely had flashbacks to Dusty Springfield’s ‘Goin’ Back’ which is really an indication of the quality of fare from Siblings on ‘Sad Boys’. The melancholy is real, the vocal trails such that they’ll mirror the movement of the tears down the cheeks of plenty of listeners. And such a show of emotion is acceptable because this is music with the grandeur to look beyond self consciousness to let all that emotion out rather than holding it damagingly deep inside. ‘Sad Boys’ soars in a heightened state of longing.
