There is a slowly turned out seduction to ‘Bed You Made’ and it comes from a combination of the lolloping playing and a singer who can operate in that kind of seesaw and still manage to steal the show. It is clear we are dealing with a personality that has the character to talk herself out of any situation, a quick turn of intonation so she goes from relaxed and cool to laying down the law. The romance is real, the instinct to go beyond the obvious while retaining a sense of song that feels like it will reward return visits. Smouldering stuff and some guitar parts from Blind Melon guitarist Rogers Stevens! KH
