Kwolek – Cemetery Days

I heard enough in that stampede of sound to wonder if Kwolek have something of a shoegaze influence but it is not what defines ‘Cemetery Days’. No that particular honour belongs to the vocal thrust which has an uncommon rush of melodic frequencies that has a singalong quality for euphoric types anyway. I heard a classic pop with a psychedelic demeanour to ‘Cemetery Days’ and in the context of a blaze of nose that is quite something. It took us whole because anything else would be going against the attraction for this kind of rampaging piece of noise. Rollerskate Skinny used to do this decades ago, Olivia Tremor Control too but this has a more thunderous side. KH
