Denver 3-piece Jenny XII operate in a manner that has been designed to twig our emotions, I mean how else could you explain that dreamy instrumental opening on ‘The Rarest Thing’ where it feels like the sun is rising and we’ve just opened the curtains so a fresh beginning is guaranteed. There are more than a few Postal Service (and some Mercury Rev) hints along the way too, which probably explains while those words sounded ever so romantically inclined. Where Jenny XII thrive most however is in believing what comes from deep inside rather than what they’ve been told to believe. ‘The Rarest Thing’ indeed, a beacon in a world when the quenching is set to industrial levels.
