Slow Coast – Quiet Down

There is a slightly staggered quality to ‘Quiet Down’, gives the piece an identity and that is half the battle these days. That Matt Lawton of Slow Coast also manages to wrestle a fluid chorus out of nowhere just adds to our sense of landing on our feet without risk of ankle injury. Struck me as a near contemporary of Canadian artist named Gareth Inkster, of whom we are very fond, who is capable of such fine cherub making with the minimum of fuss but the maximum of hummability.
