Real Ones – Stop The War

Has a noble and timely mission and it does so with the charm you’d expect of folk behemoth’s such as Midlake so it was hard not to be fall head over heels for ‘Stop The War’ from Bergen’s Real Ones. It has a persuasive quality because the arrangement is warm, jaunty but deadly serious in its pursuit of a better world. The production has a lolloping quality, shifting seamlessly from bard like reflection to an uptempo chorus that makes it easy for the rest of us rally around. So very effective in its statement against senseless war, but not only that – this is a great tune too. KH
