Mirabelle Skipworth – The Deer Song

What a novel enterprise this is, the inspiration being the acoustic folk kind but the magic rises even above that lofty categorisation. ‘The Deer Song’ is something that wouldn’t have felt out of place on ‘The Holdovers’ movie. That is down to Chicago Mirabelle’s timeless quality for this is writing that could have just as easily have come from 1974 as 2024. The best thing though is the precious drift, the distilled words filled with levity and wonder at a world that plenty of the rest of us have quite forgotten many moons ago. Sounds quite clear to me that Mirabelle Skipworth is on the brink of adulation. KH
