Lamplight – House Rules

A song that could have come straight out of winter evening’s by the fire and so we get the gradual incremental raising of the stakes as ‘House Rules’ grows from those quiet early days to something much more windswept and interesting. And I was reminded of Iron & Wine, the Velvet Underground and Ryley Walker so that Lamplight arrive at the big combustious kind of affair. You know where it feels like the music has immersed us in its noisy lair and for the life of us we didn’t want this eventuality to be any different than it turned out. Come the end I happily couldn’t breath Ian Hatcher-Williams is onto something very special. KH
