It was a slant on americana in those chords that heightened my attention, the vocals sealing the deal seconds later because what we have on ‘Avalanche’ is something to knock us off our feet and into a mode of operation that restores the fire to our collective bellies. And Joh Chase is not content to leave us there, nope there is a raising of the stakes and an upping of the ante so it clearly feels as if our restored rebellion starts here. Electricity fills the air and we wanted nothing better than to breathe in as much as we could. Devastating stuff this Seattle firebrand who has an album coming Kill Rock Stars later this year. KH
