Hipsy Gap – Uno

There is plenty chord sequences to get us pinned to the speaker that is for sure, ‘Uno’ blasting us with all sorts of off-kilter post-shoegaze motions but for all its experimental passages Hipsy Gap sure show us plenty signs of a strong songwriting side. And that is clear and present in Makensie Correll’s punchy pronouncements, which show a personality that is both tender and incapable of suffering fools gladly. Love the attitude, the noise and the general attention to discord. Punching holes in bland January days as they go this Brooklyn troupe. KH
