Cameron Sonnier – Anytime

There’s dream sequences here alright, emerging amid that pronounced percussion is a lead vocal that might be top to toe forlorn but which offers up every semblance of hope at the sametime. ‘Anytime’ reminded me of an 80’s anthem, perhaps something from Fiction Factory and that is a very good thing indeed. In short there is a proper kind of bulging heart at the core of ‘Anytime’ and with those shards of country, dischord and deep ambience it makes for a spiritual effect. One to slip inside to help block out that dark and burdensome world. You’ll find this delight on the Houston act’s second LP ‘Synchronicity’. KH
